How to get here

Madeley Road, one of the major routes in to Ironbridge from Telford is closed for essential roadworks. It is scheduled to reopen in early April. There are diversions signposted. All local access only roads have No Entry signs to stop through traffic - we ask that visitors don't use these routes, even if advised by Sat Nav.

The Ironbridge Gorge is in Shropshire, 5 miles (8km) south of Telford Town Centre and is well signposted on all major roads.

MUSEUM CAR PARKS
We use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) at all of our Museum-owned car parks. We record the registration numbers of vehicles entering and leaving a site and calculate a charge based on the length of stay. The tariff is £1 per hour up to a maximum of £5. There is a 30 minute free period to allow pick-up & drop-off.

You can pay for parking with a debit/credit card at machines on-site or online within 48 hours of your visit.

All vehicles entering these car parks will be subject to charges including motorbikes, coaches & campervans. Blue Badge holders -  please ask at Front of House for how you can receive free parking when you visit.

Charges apply 24 hours a day except at Coalport China Museum where free overnight parking is available (6pm-8am).

Our car park charges are managed by Park with Ease. Park with Ease will enforce parking charges and will issue fixed penalty notices in the event of non-payment.

LOCAL AUTHORITY CAR PARKS
Museum of The Gorge, Station Yard, the Square, Waterloo Street and Dale End Park car parks are Local Authority Pay & Display car parks and a separate ticket is required.

By Motorhome

We welcome Motorhomes at most of our sites. Broseley Pipeworks only has a small car park, so is not suitable for Motorhomes. None of our car parks have height barriers.

Motorhomes can park over multiple bays, but we request that they respect other users and park as efficiently as possible, as some of our car parks have limited spaces.

Some of the roads around the Gorge are narrow and uneven, so care should be taken, however the roads are used by coaches and buses so should be suitable for most motorhomes.

Please note that local authority car parks in the Gorge charge for the number of bays used. Standard parking charges apply at Museum car parks.

Motorhomes can be parked in most Council car parks. Check local notices for details and advice.
