Fans of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John will be treated to an outdoor screening of the original 1978 Grease film with a difference at Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge on Friday evening, 6 July.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the hit film will be shown on a huge 8m x 4m inflatable screen as part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums lates programme. Your host from the outdoor cinema team will play games and take song requests to get your feet tapping ahead of the film show, which will start at sun set around 9.30pm.
Come along when the gates open at 7.30pm and walk through the historic streets down to The Green, where The Victorian fun fair will also be in full swing, try your luck at the coconut shy and take a ride on the gallopers. Then grab something to eat and drink from the catering stalls or bring your own picnic.
Treat yourself to one of the 50 'comfy' tickets, which includes a pillow and a blanket. No other seating will be provided so bring your own rug, low-back chair or beanbag.
The film will be screened come rain or shine, wrap up warm, bring waterproof clothing and carry a brolly and torch. Refunds will not be issued because of rain, but if the show is cancelled due to severe weather, it will be rescheduled.
Tickets must be purchased in advance online priced at £14 each or £20 for the ‘comfy’ option. Annual Passport Tickets are not valid for this evening; Grease is rated PG by the British Board of Film Classification, all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and dogs will not be allowed. The film will finish around 11.30pm.
