Enginuity is our fun-filled, hands (& feet)-on science and engineering centre, with something for everyone to enjoy!

The following facilities and rules apply at this attraction:

  • Discover how a blast furnace works, in our brand new interactive experience
  • Find out how water power is used – warning: you may get wet!
  • Test yourself on our new table top experiments, and learn about the very first electric car, which was made here at Coalbrookdale
  • Take our Fairy Tale Adventure Challenge and design a way for storybook characters to cross the River Severn
  • Find out if you have the energy to pull a loco along a track
  • Take some time out in our book corner and read all about engineers, bridges and scientists
  • For families with babies and toddlers, as well as those with additional needs, Bright Sparks Sensory Room is the perfect place for a little ‘time out’

Is there a cashpoint?

You can withdraw money from our free-to-use cash machine at Blists Hill Victorian Town or from the Co-op in Ironbridge town.

 

Can I bring my dog?

Assistance dogs are welcome to visit with you, other dogs are welcome at Blists Hill Victorian Town only.

 

How long will my visit last?

We suggest a visit to Enginuity will take at about 1-2 hours.

Is there anything for kids to do?

The whole place is child-focused and they’ll love it there. During the school holidays there are great family friendly drop-in workshops.

Children must be accompanied by an adult whilst visiting.

Is the Museum suitable for visitors with disabilities?

  • Enginuity has good access for all
  • The exhibition is mainly on one level, with a lift to the mezzanine gallery
  • There is an accessible toilet on site
  • Exhibits are multi-sensory
  • This is a noisy environment, with frequent loud sounds
